What is Compressed Air?

A colorless, odorless synthetic gas compressed to high pressure which can greatly accelerate ordinary oxidations at high pressure.

Air meeting particular purity specifications has many important applications. Some of these applications are medical, undersea, aerospace, and atomic energy fields. It is also employed in Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCUBA), used in industrial, emergency response, and fire-fighting personnel, and as a power source for some kinds of neumatic equipment.

Air may be compressed from the atmosphere and purified by chemical and mechanical means. It may also be synthetically produced from the already purified major components nitrogen and oxygen.

Compressed air is stored in cylinders, tube tank cars and tube trailers.
